Constitution:
Aims: The purposes of the StatNova club are as follows:
1. Cultivating Statistical Literacy:
StatNova aims to help individuals understand and interpret data effectively. It encourages critical thinking so that members can analyse graphs, reports and research findings in a meaningful way. This helps students make informed decisions based on data rather than assumptions.
2. Bridging Theory and Practice:
One of the key purposes is to connect classroom learning and real – world applications. Students not only study statistical concepts but also apply them through practical examples, case studies and real datasets. This make learning more relevant and engaging.
3. Fostering a Statistical Community:
Statnova seeks to create a collaborative environment where students, graduates and enthusiasts can share ideas, discuss problems and learn together. It promotes teamwork, knowledge sharing and mutual growth in the field of statistics and data science.
Objectives: The objectives of the StatNova Club are as follows:
1. Technical Skill Building:
StatNova focuses on developing practical skill such as data analysis, programming (eg., R, Python, etc) data visualization, and the use of statistical tools. These skills are essential for academic success and future careers in data – related fields.
2. Collaborative Projects:
Members are encouraged to work together on projects, which helps improve teamwork and communication skills. Through collaborations, participants can tackle complex problems learn from each other and gain hands – on experience.
3. Professional Development:
StatNova supports career growth by organizing small workshops, seminars, study tours, field trips, Department Fest, Fresher’s meet, Farewell programmes, fund raising activities etc. It helps members build their resumes, prepare for interviews and understand career opportunities in statistics, data science and related fields.
4. Resource Curation:
StatNova collects and shares useful study materials, datasets, tutorials and research papers. This ensures that the members have access to high – quality resources that support their learning.
Membership:
1. All students of the Department are mandatory to join the Club.
2. Any other bonafied student from other departments within the college can be a general member of the club.
3. The Department faculty members shall be the advisers of the club.
4. It was decided that in order to be a member of the club, a student must pay a membership fee of Rs. 100/- only.
5. The validity of this membership will be for as long the student is in college.
Organisational Structure & Roles and Responsibilities:
1. President: Supervise the overall functions of the Club, Take Decisions and give approvals to any major activities of the club.
2. Vice-President: Assisting the President’s roles and responsibilities and perform his/her duties in the absence of the president.
3. Secretary: Maintain records and other documentations, Coordinates Meetings and other activities, presentations of Secretary Reports of various activities and events at the General Meetings conducted at the conclusion of each semester.
4. Joint Secretary: Assisting the Secretary’s roles and responsibilities and perform his/her duties in the absence of the secretary. Coordinate the publicity and outreach programmes of the club, Lend technical support for any programme organise by the club.
5. Treasurer: Maintain the financial budget of the club, presentation of financial report at the General Meetings conducted at the conclusion of each semester.
Tenure:
1. All students’ office bearers shall hold the position for a period of one Academic Year
Advisers: All serving faculty members are advisors of the club and all the reports and events, programmes etc. are to be approved by the Head of the Department.
The Executive Committee Members are to uphold the protocols of the club.
Election/Selection: The election or nomination of Executive members will be held at the beginning of each Academic year where each EC members of the club will be elected by majority votes or consensus. The Head of Department will chaired the election or selection processes.
Finance: The club will collect a membership fee of Rs. 100/- (One Hundred Only) and the club can seek financial support from the Principal’s office in case of any financial assistance needed for any activities. Further, members are encourage to conduct fund raising programmes to maintain the financial stability of the club and any expenditures and receipts of the club needed approval from the Head of the Department.
Meetings:
1. The EC meetings shall be held regularly for every two months.
2. The emergent and special meetings can be held whenever it is required.
3. All meetings needs approval from The Head of the Department
