Founded in 2026, the Theatre Club was formed out of a desire to create a space where imagination, performance, and collective creativity could thrive within the college community. The Club brings together students who are drawn to the stage in its many forms — acting, writing, movement, music, design, and storytelling — and seeks to encourage an environment where these forms of expression can grow through collaboration and shared experience.

Theatre carries within it a unique sense of presence. It exists in voice, gesture, silence, rhythm, and human connection. Across cultures and histories, dramatic performance has served as a way for people to tell stories, preserve memory, question society, and explore the emotional complexities of everyday life. The Club recognises theatre as an art form that is both deeply personal and collective, capable of creating moments of reflection, empathy, and dialogue among performers and audiences alike.

At its heart, the Theatre Club hopes to cultivate a strong creative community within the college. It encourages students to participate in productions, workshops, readings, improvisation sessions, and other theatrical activities that allow members to learn from one another and develop confidence in their artistic abilities. The Club also seeks to create opportunities for experimentation and exploration by engaging with different styles, traditions, and approaches to performance.

The objectives of the Club include i. encouraging participation in theatre and performance arts among students, ii. organising productions, workshops, rehearsals, and cultural activities connected to drama and storytelling, iii. supporting students interested in acting, directing, scriptwriting, stagecraft, music, and other aspects of theatrical production, and iv. enhancing creativity, collaboration, cultural engagement, and artistic expression through the practice of theatre.
