Ecofeminist Horizons: Bridging Gender, Society and Environment in the Context of the Khasi

On September 22, 2026, the Department of Sociology successfully hosted a guest lecture titled “Ecofeminist Horizons: Bridging Gender, Society and Environment in the Context of the Khasi.” The insightful session was delivered by Prof. Rekha Shangpliang, Head, Department of Sociology, NEHU. The lecture provided our students with an enriching academic experience and a deeper understanding of the intersections between gender, society, culture and the environment. The Department expresses its sincere gratitude to our Principal for his constant encouragement and for always supporting departmental initiatives aimed at enriching the knowledge and learning experiences of our students. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the Management of Shillong College for their continued support. A special word of thanks to Kerbor, our Technical Assistant, for his valuable technical support and assistance in ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme. It was a fulfilling and meaningful academic experience for the Department and our students. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the programme a success.
