From Communities to Classroom - Healthy Ears, Brighter Futures

An Awareness and Sensitization Programme on Ear Care and Hearing Loss along with a Hearing Screening Programme was conducted by Dr. Howni W. Laloo, State Nodal Officer, National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness (NPPCD), National Health Mission, Meghalaya, under the theme "From Communities to Classroom - Healthy Ears, Brighter Futures". The programme was conducted in collaboration with Swasth Bharat (Health Care) cell and IQAC, Shillong College. The objective was to create awareness about prevention of deafness, early detection of hearing loss, importance of ear hygiene and timely intervention. A screening was also conducted after the awareness program for students and faculty. The screening focused on promoting better learning and communication, improved quality of life and healthy hearing for a brighter tomorrow among students.
