Legal Awareness Programme | Shillong College

A Legal Awareness Programme was held at Shillong College on 29 September 2026, organised by the Department of Political Science, Legal Literacy Cell and IQAC in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, East Khasi Hills District and the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority. The programme sensitised students on important legal and social issues, including the POCSO Act, 2012, prevention of child marriage, sexual harassment at the workplace, free legal services, cybercrime, digital-arrest scams, cybersecurity and the Motor Vehicles Act. Resource persons from the District Legal Services Authority and the Cyber Security and Traffic Branch, East Khasi Hills Police shared valuable insights and practical guidance.
